A few words from Xiaoxiao

When I am painting, I choose the subject that I have well observed or that conveys strongest feeling. First of all, I start with the shape like a basement for my work, then comes the expression of the feelings. Thenafter, I work to merge this feeling into the shape that has been first put on the canvas, this is the leading path to a certain strength. Shape and feeling become unified. Emotionnal expression is more important because the subject is so much blurred to leave room to inner feeling. Description of the subject is no longer the main driver, but the expression of the feeling. Subject is the mean, feeling is the goal. My very own creative mind, my emotions, my french and chinese bi-cultural experience, various components of the traditional chinese paintings, all of those are included in the way I express myself within my paintings.
